Our rebrand to Royal London
Below are answers to some questions you may have following
the rebrand of Scottish Provident to Royal London.
Why have you rebranded?
Our businesses have all gradually moved to one single brand name – Royal London – to make it simpler for customers. Scottish Provident Self Assurance rebranded on 31 December 2015. Scottish Provident Pegasus Whole of Life rebranded to Royal London on 7 April 2016.
Why is Royal London making these changes?
Royal London is the UK’s largest mutual life and pensions company, but not many people know this. External research has shown that a multi-brand strategy is frequently perceived as confusing and over-elaborate. We have big ambitions for the Royal London brand. So we’ve been through a review of our branding and have moved to Royal London to be consistent and recognisable for our customers.
Scottish Provident has a strong heritage. Why get rid of this?
We may have changed the Scottish Provident name but not what it stands for. Scottish Provident has been part of the Royal London Group since 2008, and this has helped us to be innovative and to meet your clients’ needs. It’s the financial strength of Royal London that supports Scottish Provident and although the brand might command a sense of heritage in the adviser market, brand awareness is actually much lower than many of our competitors. The new single brand approach will ensure more customers recognise Royal London which will make it easier to recommend us to your clients.
